How to reach: Kasol can only be reached by road as there is no air route or rail route connecting it. From the Indian capital of New Delhi, a picturesque road trip o 378kms can get you to Kasol. Best time to Visit: March to October. Here are the best places to visit in Kasol. The Parvati River A frothing river making crackling sounds as if welcoming the ones taking a stroll on its banks, the Parvati River is one of the best highlights of this small town of Kasol, Himachal Pradesh. It is mesmerizing to see clean white sand, lush green grass and a majestic view all around. Please don’t get deceived by the look of the river and don’t try crossing it on foot as the current could be more fierce than imagined. There is a rickety bridge that gives you a good thrill while crossing. For the feeling of tranquility, dip your feet in the cold water of the river and gaze at the flowing water of the river, you won’teven realize how time would go by. Tosh Village Tosh adds to the beauty of this off beat destination and is the last end of the road that stretched the Parvati valley. A tiny hamlet of unparallel views and small but lovely cafes, Tosh is the place for backpackers. Not a recommended place for families as its infamous among cannabis smokers and Israeli tourists. But that does not lessen the beauty of this place and it is still offers unmatched natural beauty. Manikaran Gurudwara No visit to Kasol is complete without visiting the picturesque Manikaran Gurudwara. The beautiful campus also houses many temples of lord Rama, Krishna and Vishnu. Located on the backdrop of snowcapped mountain peaks and magnificent beauty, the gurudwara is also famous for hot water springs. One can witness numerous pilgrims offering their respects to the God. The mystical place by the river is decorated with tons of vibrant banners. ‘langar’ is always available at the temple and the surroundings exude spirituality in the air. Visiting the Manikaran Gurudwara can be quite an experience. Kasol Kheerganga trek A delight for the trek enthusiasts, the Kasol kheerganga trek is a heaven for lovers of natural beauty. While you may find some stoned hippies on the way, it’s easy to ignore them as they hardly acknowledge you. Reaching kheerganga may take almost 3-4 hours ardent trek. A tableland surrounded by thick lush green forests. Finding a tent for the night stay is easy and advisable as the clear sky in the night is simply spectacular. Many hikers visit Kasol for the kheergana trek. Although, being in the close vicinity to Malana, the infamous hub of hash, Kasol also is mostly avoided by vacationers. But the truth is not everyone there is a hippie and the locals are quiet friendly. Visiting Kasol during summers is the best time, but if you want to witness the majestic snowcapped peaks and take bath in the very hot spring water of Manikaran gurudwara, chilly winters is your time to be at Kasol.
