This sacred place is said to be Khwaja
Moinuddin Chisti, the Sufi saint’s burial chamber. This dargah is quite popular

It is a marble arched tomb that experiences never ending streams of religious

powerful Mughal Emperor of India had visited this saint during the 16th
century to get boon for his successor that was obliged. Ajmer Sharif being a

Festivals
Urs or the yearly pilgrimage is

Outside the Dargah, two huge cauldrons
filled with sweet steam rice and dressed with condiments and dry fruits are
served as sacred food or ‘tabarukh’. A mosque is present within the dargah premises
that were constructed at the order of Shah Jahan, the Mughal King. This mosque
is considered to be an architectural wonder in itself, laid with white marble
and having slender, extended courtyard to provide place for religious devotees
to pray. It also is decorated with subtle carvings, meticulous trelliswork and
ornate calligraphic message.

The closest airport to Ajmer Sharif is
at Jaipur, located at a distance of 135km. Taxis, buses and private vehicles
can be found to reach Ajmer Sharif effortlessly.
There are daily trains plying from
this popular town to the rest of the country. Frequent trains can be availed
from Jaipur, Mumbai and Delhi. Shatabdi Express, one of the fastest trains in
the country will ensure that tourists can travel in a relaxed manner.
Inside the city, the tourists can find
